Staff Accountants/Bookkeepers – remote

Summary:

We are looking for Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers who will report to the Senior Manager of this Accounting firm and are willing to set-up a dedicated office in their homes. Individuals will be responsible for handling our clients’ day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring that the company’s financial records are both accurate and timely. The successful candidate will work independently on a wide range of duties including payables, receivables, payroll and banking for multiple clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Cash management – daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
  • Accounts payable – posting, payments and vendor relations
  • Accounts receivable – invoicing and collections
  • Payroll – process with third party payroll processing company
  • Month End – reconcile, post journal entries and create monthly reporting packages including BS, P&L, Budget Analysis and Cash Projections
  • Provide assistance and support to client personnel

 

Qualifications:

  • Naturally accurate, a keen eye for detail, top notch organizational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.  3-5 years of qualified bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • A solid accounting foundation, specifically with experience in QuickBooks desktop, QBO and MS-Office. Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Demonstration of hands on experience and agility with spreadsheets and financial reports, in addition to an Accounting or related degree
  • World class responsiveness to colleagues and clients – strong communication skills
  • Willingness to be coached in client-facing relationship to convey the company voice in all communications.

Experience in GAAP Accounting, FAR Audit Accounting, eCommerce Accounting and/or Engineering Accounting are highly desirable

The successful candidate will build on a seasoned accounting foundation to become a trusted advisor to our clients.  She/He will cultivate a perspective beyond the books to offer insights and guidance.

Employment terms:

  • Positions of 25-40 hours/week
  • Simple IRA with up to 3% company matching, phone stipend, medical benefits and PTO available
  • Background check required
  • Have a quiet, designated home office that is not a common area of your home and are willing to invite us for an in-home interview
  • Can travel 4 times/year for a half day meeting in the Philadelphia area.
  • We do not hire subcontractors with their own clients
